Business management expert Stacy Erickson embraces the hospitality industry as director of sales for The Charmant Hotel, La Crosse, WI’s only boutique accommodation. Managing finances and budgets while also tuning into guest relations, Erickson focuses on honing communications and collaborations to cultivate a warm environment that honors the Aparium Hotel Group property’s historic setting. Her leadership strategy embraces transparency, trust, and individuality, which fosters comfort, camaraderie, and growth among her team.
Simultaneously methodical and innovative, Erickson embodies The Charmant’s vibrant atmosphere and its commitment to serving both visitors and neighbors with charm and authenticity. "We’re intentional about connecting to the La Crosse community," she explains. "In the lobby lounge, you’ll often find students studying and residents reading the paper. The coffee parlor is full of people who work nearby. And in the kitchen, our chef sources ingredients from local farms." Recalling her own introduction to La Crosse, Erickson aims to make The Charmant as welcoming to its guests as the city and its citizens have been to her.
Upon earning a business management degree from Minnesota’s St. Cloud State University, Erickson started her career in corporate retail in 2007 with General Mills in Minneapolis, where she quickly ascended the ranks from a customer service role to account operations specialist. She continued to engage with Midwestern markets through various analyst and management roles with Gander Mountain and Roundy’s Supermarkets, at which her capacity for research and forecasting led to new supply replenishment strategies and web-based systems. Erickson identifies as an analytical person, with equal inclination for creativity through experience with event production and marketing materials development.
With her transition to The Charmant Hotel in June 2016, Erickson entered the world of hospitality, marking an exciting new phase in her career. "What drew me to the position was the specific job description," she says. "The Charmant allows me to handle the revenue-driven, budget-focused side while still interacting and conversing with guests and clients."
In addition to her work with The Charmant Hotel, Erickson also operates Stacy Erickson Design, which produces wedding stationary, holiday cards, marketing materials, and more. She enjoys spending leisure time with her husband, Mark, and their dog, Kirby, and often heads into the Wisconsin wilderness to hike, canoe, and play volleyball and softball.
